PetSmart @ Windsor Square
We will be setting up a booth at PetSmart periodically throughout the year located at Windsor Square off of Hwy 74 to show the community that they should always think Adoption First! We will set up a booth with information about our group as well as bring several of our foster dogs. We will be selling T-shirts, Magnets and Calendars as well as educating the public about our rescue group. Please contact us for specific dates!
Petco @ The Arboretum

Bark in the Park - April 30th, 2011
Mark your calendar now for this annual event to be held on Saturday, April 30th, as we will definitely need volunteers throughout the day from 8 am to 4 pm! Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation invites "dogs and people they own" to join the fun as this event drew an estimated 14,500 people in 2010, most with dogs. Enter dog contests like Best Costume, Best Bark, Largest Dog, Smallest Dog, Best Trick, Throw and Catch, and Disc Long-Shot Catch. Register for these events at the festival. Watch the Pooch Parade of Adoptable Dogs as we always enter a few of our foster babies awaiting their furever home! More details to follow closer to the event.
Charlotte Pet Expo - May 21st, 2011
We will be at the Merchandise Mart on Saturday, May 21st, from 9 am to 6 pm attending the 2nd Annual Charlotte Pet Expo - the pet lover's premier event! Bringing all the foremost trainers, groomers, rescues, shelters, vets, clinics, pet stores, retailers, hobbyist groups, and societies together for a fun filled day! This event will assemble all key areas of the pet companion world to educate, demonstrate, and perform for the Charlotte pet lover community and beyond. Educational demonstrations, special guest, agility trials, adoptions and a pet fashion show are just a few events on the day's agenda. There is something for everyone, truly an experience for the whole family. You might even meet a new 4-legged family member!
S.A.F.E. Animal Haven Yard Sale - September 10th, 2011
We are having our 4th Annual Yard Sale on Saturday, September 10th to raise money for our rescue group to be held at Jodi Murphy Blocker's house (Thornblade Subdivision, 1810 Thornblade Ridge Drive, Matthews, NC 28105) from 7 am to 1 pm. If you have items you would like to donate, please send an email to OurFosters@Yahoo.com. Remember, all donations go toward caring for our foster dogs awaiting their forever homes. A tax receipt will be provided upon request!
Woof'n and Hoof'n Fall Festival - October 8th, 2011
Go ahead and mark those new calendars for a Howlin' good time at our 2nd Annual Fall Festival and an Equestrian Poker Run through Latta Plantation Park, located at 6201 Sample Road, Huntersville, NC 28078, on Saturday, October 8th. We will have pony rides for the children, and experts who will demonstrate a variety of skills with both dogs and horses. Cash prizes for Best and Worst Hand for the Poker Run. Bring your own horse or Latta Equestrian Center will allow you to use one of their horses on a first come, first serve basis for an additional $25 fee. Come join us for food, fun and festivities - more details to follow!
Thrill the World Charlotte - "Arise" Family Friendly Festival - October 29th, 2011
We are teaming up again this year with Making It A Better Place for the 2nd Annual Thrill The World Charlotte event to be held on Saturday, October 29th, 2011 from 9 am to 12 pm. The festival will be held at the brand new Crossing Paths Park located at 120 Blythe Drive in Indian Trail!
Thrill The World Charlotte is a fun and exciting event that raises awareness and funds for local charities, including S.A.F.E. Animal Haven! Thrill The World is friends, families and other local residents who will join together with thousands of other people around the globe to break the World Record for the Largest Simultaneous Dance to Michael Jackson's Thriller to be performed at 10 am sharp!
Making It A Better Place is a Charlotte, NC, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to create a culture where giving back is second nature, not just a 'once in a while' thing. They believe that one person can make a difference and know that it is the little things that matter.
